Can I have my software now please?

So, here is an absolute classic from the Autodesk Developer Network/licencing team at Autodesk. I register for my Revit 2020 NFR licence via my ADN login. I get the usual email about it being available in 24 hours etc. This morning I get the usual email stating Revit 2020 NFR with the link to download it from my Autodesk Account management portal (manage.autodesk.com) and it's not there. I then get a Licence Certificate for Revit 2019, with NO 2020 licence showing on my Autodesk Account. Go figure.

Why can't Autodesk get this licencing stuff sorted?

I'm an Expert Elite, and the EE team get software licences on my Autodesk Account portal within MINUTES, but if I go through the ADN, this fiasco happens on a regular basis.

Sorry to rant, but I need Revit 2020 to do my job, and to sing its praises via my blog. Trust me, Autodesk, this will be noted, as I'm pretty sure that the subscription customers have already got their 2020 licences and yet, we, who offer our services voluntarily (for free), have to wait.

I will wait and see when I get my Revit 2020 licence. In the meantime, I'll start writing my blog.

Your post is a little more appropriate over here. Not that ranting is encouraged but doing it in the right forum would be prudent.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

There's a reason I put it here. So that The Revit team are fully aware that this is a problem. It happened on the last release too, and I think it should be fixed. I will also check where you suggest, but I just wish this licencing situation would get resolved.

I'm not sure this fully addresses your rant, but 2020 has not be released to everybody yet.   For instance, those of us on Maintenance have to wait a little longer.  Call your reseller. They can explain why.

Thanks for the clarification. Maybe Autodesk should not have sent me an email CLEARLY stating a Revit 2020 licence with a S/N and PK when this was the case? Sometimes I despair with Autodesk, because I was SO excited this morning when I got the email (sigh). At least now, my disappointemnt has now been managed effectively. Appreciate it. Thanks! 😉

Aren't you on a beach somewhere Shaun or are you agitated that you had to leave? Smiley LOL

I'm still waiting on my BDS license for 2020... I got my license from our Mentor days though...but with all the issues 2020 is having with the viewer mode I think I'll wait a bit longer for a hotfix before installing.

Sadly, no beach, just the office at home. I just got my ADN NFR licences installed and all seem to be functioning OK. I just wish this left hand/right hand situation would stop at Autodesk. When the software is all working, it runs well, but this licencing situation takes the lustre (luster) off it, and it is all just 'niggly' stuff that is easily solved. I think I might bring this up at the next EE webinar. Hope all is well with you and hope that you enjoy the 2020 licences! 🙂
