Can I extract the dimensions (x,y and z) from a floor? - Schedule

I would like that my schedules show not only the Area parameter, but the other dimensions also. Is there an automatic way for this?

Even that the value is correlated with x or y axis?

I've tried writting the lenght and the width parameter, but both are "dumb" and can be edited. However when i am editing then anything happens in the project, obviously.

Any suggestion?

Do you need x,y,z coordinate of every vertex point ?

You can go halfway - if it's OK for you to manually enter one dimension of the room, you can set up a calculated parameter to calculate the other!

Not points, but the dimensions...revit calculates the area but doesn't give the dimensions which are used.

Z is just the thickness of the floor.

X and Y, however, don't make any sense because floors aren't always an rectangular shape.

I know this, as i' ve wrote, but if the Revit calculates the area, therefore it uses values for this.. independent of the axis of the dimensions or if the shape is a retangle or a circle for example, I just would like extract this values in schedule..i am using floor for doing sheds and the dimensions of sheds must appear in the schedule. But i think the one possibily is creating a family for sheds and after extract the dimensions from their parameters...

Yes if your floors are of the same shape so you can certainly make a family and give it parameters for W an L, or X and Y (which don't make sense unless your floor are always on the same orientation). What if a long rectangle floor rotated 45d, which is X, which is Y?

i got it, i just thought that maybe the axis could be setted or the dimensions could be extract in some way without any name with just the values of edges (in that case i was saying x,y, whatever, just for an example)..i will make families therefore.. Thanks anyway!

You can extract the coordinates of points in objects with the help of another tool, such as Autodesk Point Layout. It is used for construction, to locate at the construction field the coordinates of things such as penetrations on a slab for hangers of HVAC ducts.

Right now im working on a project which contains some furniture modeled using walls and floors as horizontal and vertical woodpanels and the manufacturer would like to receibe the schedules of both the vertical (walls) and horizontal (floors) pieces. When i make the schedule for the walls i obtain the basic dimensions of each panel but when it comes to the floors i cant obtain that information in the schedules. i certainly know that Revit isnt supposed to be used for furniture design, but i still wonder if theres any way to obtain the dimensions of floors in order to give the whole information to make estimated costs. Thanks !

How about don't use Floors for those?  Do it properly by using families with dimensions as shared parameters.

That was perfectly clear. I really appreciate it. 
After watching your video i wonder if walls still are the correct tool to model the vertical panels or if theres a better way to model vertical panels. I tried rotating the casework you just showed me but it isnt allowed.

Change the family to Workplane based and not always vertical and you can place it on anything, vertical, horizontal, sloped, or free in space.
