Can i combine schedules?

Hi all,

I have been painting surfaces and finding out how much of the building envelope is for openings with the paint tool and material take of schedules as you can see in the images attached. My problem is I want to have all the numbers in one schedule, i.e. walls, floors and ceilings. However, at the moment I can only make one material take off schedule with either floors, walls or ceilings separately and not as a combined schedule.

Does anyone know if this is possible and if not then are there any other ways around it?

You should use Multi-Category Schedule.

Ah I see, but is there a way to distinguish between material name and material area like in the images I attached? Because multi category doesn't seem to have those parameters?

Multi Category material take offs have these parameters.

Make sure you are using Material take off and not schedules.

And just a quick side note on that:

Materials in generic models that have been created using in-place mass aren't included in this schedule are they?

Any element with material will show in this schedule as long as the material parameter is correct and a material is applied to it.

If I create a simple model in place and paint it, it doesn't show up in the schedule for some reason.

I didn't notice that in your previous response.

Masses cannot included in these schedule.

Create the in place model under a different category such as Walls, paint the surfaces and they will show in your material take-off schedule.
