Can grid line style be overridden in a view?

I would like to override the grid line style in a view.  The option to override the line style is greyed out in visibility/graphic overrides menu as shown in the image below.

You can override them by elements or via a filter.

Override Graphics in View.  That's the one in the right-click drop-down menu.
