Callouts that block graphics

So our plumbing designer likes to come up with ways to stump Revit trying to do things AutoCAD can then ask me about it. His newest one is a callout that will block graphics. I just used a masking region here to get the point across. But is there some other way? Best I can think of might be a plan region.

Out of curiosity, what's the purpose of doing that?

i usually use a masking region. you just have to be carful with your placement. you have to offset the masking lines inside the detail lines just a little so it looks OK. also set the masking region sketch lines to <Invisible Lines>.

the top callout has the masking sketch lines overlapping the detail lines of the callout. the bottom one has them inset just a little.

if you don't need the whole bubble masked, you can just set the text style to have a Opaque background....

Some plumbing designers/engineers don't like showing stuff that is in there callouts on the plan where the callout is located. (I've never been on board with that thinking.)

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Really? Interesting. I've never seen that done.  I think it would drive me crazy seeing those all over the Plans.  I'd be constantly flipping back and forth between sheets to see what was hidden.  he, he.
