CAD import in family not responding to graphic overrides?

Hey, so I'm using this family as an entourage item for my model. The family is just a 3D CAD import of a truck. The thing is, it shows in all the views with the cad layer colours? I tried modifying the Object Styles overrides for Imported Objects in both the project and the family, but nothing happens. Also tried just overriding the visuals in the VG window, but the problem persists. Am I missing something?

Check the DWG and make sure all the Elements are set to BYLAYER.

I didn't create the family. Is there a way to extract the CAD file to edit it and then replace it? Or should I just export and re-create the family from scratch? Also, from query I can see the elements are already set to By Layer I think

Update: I just exported and re-imported the CAD file and it fixed it. Thanks!
