Building Families - Lines missing in Plan View

Hi all, when building a family in Revit I have found that some elements I've drawn are not visible in Plan view. If I change to Front, Left, Right or Back View, I can see them, select them and edit them. When I go back to Plan view they're not there. There's just some things that have to be edited in Plan view so it's really frustrating. It started happening all of a sudden so I'm not sure why. I'm guessing it's something to do with visibility settings but I can't figure it out. Thanks for any help in advance.

Sometimes the linework can be hidden underneath a floor if that floor is raised higher than 0.0 above the inserted family. Have you tried raising the elevation of the Family to see if the linework shows @Anonymous Otherwise turn on temporary graphics override, turn on all model and annotations and see if the items in question are under a different category.

When you say "Lines", what kind of Lines are you referring to?  Model Lines? Those should be visible in all views, including 3D Views.  But, if you are referring to Detail Lines (e.g. Symbolic Lines), those are 2D lines and will only show in the Views oriented to the Plane that the line was drawn on.

I actually should say extrusion. Say I’m building a cupboard as a family. Occasionally I’ve found (unexplainably) that an extrusion I’ve built, for example, a shelf I’ve built in plan view, can’t be seen in plan view, but I can see it in Front view, Left view, Right view, and Back view. I can select it in any of these views, but once I change to Plan view it’s not visible. I can see that it’s selected but it’s not visible to edit it.

Casework Category?  Casework families have unique visibility behavior related to View Range.  I don't know if this is what you are referring to, but this Link provides information about it.

p.s. are we talking in the Family?  Turn off your Preview Visibility in Plan View.  That might be the culprit.
