Bugs - problem with topography

Hello!

I haven't find no other place to inform autodesk team about some bugs, so I'll try it here!
I just discoverde some annoying problems working with topographies.
1. The topography pattern do not show in a plan befor the topography unless you have at least one point before your plan level! Totally illogical for an architect. I have A plan before the topography so I need the pattern to appear! Just like that.
2. Topography patterns dont appera in plan before the pads!!! Why?Why??Why??? I have a pad, I have a plan befor, I NEED the pattern to be shown! Just like that!
3. In secction the wall patter shows when it cros a site, but in plan revit shows the site pattern! Why? I nedd the same logic in plans and secctions!! just the same!! The secction behavior is great, why it dosent work in plan???

I have other bugs and sugestions to list to you if you are interested!

Hi @Anonymous

Can you share a file to troubleshoot and can you send us a screenshot of the 'section pattern' that you referring to.

I can send you a private link for you to upload your file.

  • Let us know which version of Revit you are using and if you are using the 'site designer' plugin or the 'massing and site' tool.
  • Also is the topography imported or created in Revit?
  • Did you try altering the view Visibility/Graphic Overrides options for Topography Category
  • What are your view range settings?

Looking forward to your reply update, and we are glad to help!

1&2.  Pardon if I misunderstood you.  How can you expect something to show if they aren't there?  If you want a topo to show, draw it and later update it with proper data from survey.

3. Wall?  If the plan view cut plane cuts though walls then they will show cut pattern just like sections.

Hello Viveka! I`m using the Revit 2017. I create the topography with the Massing and Site Tool and it is not a imported topography, I did it by elevation points.

Plan under the pad.

Toan DN, I think you misanderstood me. The same topography show in section should be showing in plan. The object is there. Under a pad we have topography.

About the wall and topography what happens is that when you have a wall insede the topography, in the section Revit shows only the wall pattern, priorizing the wall over the topography, but in plan it shows both paterns.

Bug Wall x Topography Secction.png

Section - Revit shows only the wall pattern! To me it looks amazing, it would be great if Revit did the same in plan, but...

Plan - Revit shows both patterns.

Thanks a lot both of you!!!!!

What is the cut plane of the floor plan view?  Is it actually cutting through the topo?  It looks like it is cutting above the building pad of that room.

You are correct on this one.

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for sharing these images. Can you send a screenshot of your view range settings - I'm wondering if your view depth is not set below the bottom plane. Can you share your file? I can send a private folder if you want.
