Browser organisation

Hi,

I've followed this tutorial  http://paulaubin.com/blog/creating-project-browser-folders/  and have created a group called details and have views in there, but I only seem to be able to get the browser to show "all" ie the standard browser orginisation OR "Details" which is the one I have created.

What I really want is to have is the standard with an addional section in amongst the "floor plans", Ceiling plans" "sections" etc that has my details in it.

Many thanks,

Finn.

Go to the View Tab on the Ribbon; Windows panel >> User Interface >> Browser Organization...In the dialoge go to View Tab and click Edit >> Click Groupling and Sorting Tab and Set it to group and sort as follows

1. By discipline

2. Family and Type

3. Detail level

You need to try the different combinations...If I understood right from your discription the above should show you Discipline>Plans>Details for each category Plans/Ceilings/sections. It lists the general plan/ceiling views then followed by you callout details, general sections followed by callout details on the sections...etc

Thanks, that's pretty much what I'm doing.

What I really want to do is in the View tab of browser orginisation, check "all" and the new filter I've created, but I can't seem to do that.

The only option is to populate the text field I have created in every view, but I can only seem to apply it to Sections and elevations, Not plans. Under project perameteres I've selected to apply the text field "View type" to views, so I conclude that a plan is not a view in Revit.  Smiley Frustrated

What I used to do is to create a parameter called User....  Then when all the views are shown, I would apply my name to the User paramter.  I would then create a Browser View that would filter by User <myname> and then group as what I wanted.  That way only certain views that I wanted to work on would show up and I wouldn't have to hunt through a long list of views if I had to go back and forth.

Only bummer part about this is you have to go back to the all view to be able to add or remove views.

BTW, when you create the new parameter, be sure you apply it to the Views Category and it is an instance parameter.
