I am trying to use the model geometry from a previous Revit (2014) project we did for a client in a new project for the same client.
I've upgraded the old model from 2014 to 2016 without issue - however - part of my company's workflow is to start a new project with our new updated template, and bring the old model geometry over into the new project. This helps with a number of coordination and graphics issues - we've changed our text standards, have updated titleblocks, families, details, etc . . .
As far as I can tell, the best way to do this is to link the old project into a blank new project using our current template, bind the link, and set up new views. When I attempt this, I get several fixable errors: walls don't want to stay joined (Unjoin Elements), constraints breaking (Unconstrain) etc - but the last error is this extremely vague bit about a dimension (somewhere) and a sketch (of something somewhere), and there is no remedial action available apparently:
My only option is co cancel? After many minutes of waiting as Revit attempts to bind the link, the whole process gets cancelled. I've gone into the original model and Iv'e deleted every dimension I could find in every single view in the project. I can't even tell what this might be a sketch of that is causing the problem. Why don't I have the option to import everything BUT the one sketch somewhere that is causing an issue? Give me an objectID or something guys . . .
