Bind Failed

I'm trying to bind a plumbing model with a mechanical piping model. I've tried checking & unchecking every combination of details, levels, and grids & none of it works. This is the error I keep getting:

Is "location: <Not Shared>" the issue? If so, any ideas on how to fix it in the original model?

Unfortunately, not binding it is not an option

What about binding Mechanical to Plumbing instead?

Well, helping you resolve this would require a hands on approach.  Otherwise we'd just be throwing out ideas of what you could try.   Could be a long, long thread. 😉

I've tried binding each of them into a new project, mech pipe into plumbing (because the mech pipe is smaller), and plumbing into mech pipe. It doesn't work any of the ways.

I'm ok with that. Saves me from having to do my modeling in two different models

Credit to @ToanDN for the solution.

Open a 3D view of the smaller model, select all model elements and make a group, save the group to a new file, load the new file as a group to the main/bigger model, align it using the Project Base Point symbol.
