BIM question

I just read two books on Revit.  But neither discussed the Building Information Modelling aspects of Revit.

They did not discuss costs of construction, or events/costs after the construction is completed.

Can someone explain this, or provide a link to good information on BIM?

Thank you for your help.

Both of those topics are really part of the parameters you use on elements in the model and then use them in some way. It is really kind of a big topic to cover in a quick forum post.

You may have some luck looking for these kind of topics at the Autodesk University Online site;

Books about hammers and saws don't have info about construction costing or post construction events because they are just tools in a huge  building environment.  Revit is just a tool in the great big BIM environment.  I would suggest doing some googling and then a ton of reading.  Start here: http://blog.capterra.com/top-34-bim-resources/
