BIM manual - number

Dear BIM users, I am new BIM user, please help me to do the revit by using the attached file. I received this together with BIM manual from the consultant, but i don't know to use this. Please reply ASAP. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I guess your BIM Manual is nothing but the MasterFormat specification.

All that I can tell you from the limited information you provide is you need to follow the nomenclature as per the guide for the elements in your model.

Actually i am new user and not much experience. You mean i have to create shared parameter?

If you have time please check the attached pdf file. If you give me reply asap will be helpful for me.

More than likely someone is expecting you tag your elements with a keynote based on Masterformat.

Save it to a project location and then in your project go to Keynote, click the menu and go to Keynote settings and set the file location to where you saved the file.  Numbering method will be "by keynote".  Use the Keynote Tag from there and search for that spec number and it will tag that element with that number.  If you tag another railing of the same type in another view it will automatically populate the tag.

When you have a template created with all your families predefined with this info, tagging is a snap!

Confirm With your BIM manager if this is the version you are required to use, as there maybe updates to the MasterFormat.

I am not really certain what your task with the MasterFormat is.. 🙂
