Best Workflow for Managing Tag Justification (Top+Left/Right/Center)

Hi All,
I think this if for all the disciplines:

I still can’t believe that after more than 10 years we still don’t have a native way to justify tags (left, right, top, bottom).
I read this post from the past: Tag/Text Improvements - Autodesk Community,Custom Insertion Point(s) for Leader Tag - Autodesk Community

My goal is simple: I’d like to have Top Right / Top Left / Top Center justification available for all my tag types.

We all know the usual workaround for left/right/center justification, creating three different types. But here’s my specific case:

Example family:
COMPANY_Structural Framing Tag

Current types:

  • Type

  • Type + Comment

  • Type + Elevation

Now, if I want Left/Right/Center alignment, I need:

  • COMPANY_Structural Framing Tag - LEFT

  • COMPANY_Structural Framing Tag - RIGHT

  • COMPANY_Structural Framing Tag - CENTER

That’s already 3 families × 3 = 9 tag variations.

Now, if I also want Top justification, I need invisible lines positioned differently for each version (otherwise it doesn’t work). This pushes me toward the following structure:

COMPANY_Structural Framing Tag

  • Type_Left

  • Type_Center

  • Type_Right

COMPANY_Structural Framing Tag – Type + Comments

  • Type+Comments_Left

  • Type+Comments_Center

  • Type+Comments_Right

COMPANY_Structural Framing Tag – Type + Elevation

  • Type+Elevation_Left

  • Type+Elevation_Center

  • Type+Elevation_Right

All of these require different invisible lines → 9 unique types across 3 families. I would have preferred the other structure, with the types being Type, Type+Comments, Type+Elevation, but I can’t place the lines for justification all within the same tag — it’s just a mess.

For now, I think this is the most manageable way to structure them. But honestly, it’s frustrating that Autodesk , the biggest company in the AEC sector, still doesn’t allow us to justify tags by instance or type with a simple property setting.

Another strategy I’m considering is moving everything to a Multi-Category Tag, to reduce the number of tags. But this whole process of justifying all tags Right/Left/Center + adding lines for Top justification is crazy!

Would love to hear your opinions, or if anyone has found a better strategy.
