Best way to adjust colors.

  • Hi guys, every project we have to spend likely a day to make color adjustments. Each model contains several different windows, doors, etc from different sources. Everytime we have to manually go inside each families to change color/material, test and change again, again, very tiresome... I wonder what is the Rv "legit" way to control all this, from a central place, one click change all frame, for example, across all doors, windows...

Use material parameters for components in families so that you can control materials directly in projects without editing families.

Another way is assign subcategories to components and set their material to By Category in families.  Subcategories should be consistent among your families and you can assign a material to each subcategory in projects.

Why don't you save the Material - once you get it just right - to your Favorites folder and reuse it in other Projects?

The ideal is to create several pallets, like warm, cool, historic,...and with a few click we can present the project in several color schemes. But right now to get everything to be in one scheme alone takes a day long with frustration.

If your idea is to make presentation drawings with certain palettes you can use the graphic studio plugin that is in the Revit app store. It allows to set certai color palettes and to use an eyedropper as well to match colors inside your Revit view, or pick colors from a document outside Revit.
