Beam Tag Centered

Hi,

I'm wondering if there is a way to place a beam tag at the center of the span and aligned it to the center line of the beam without manually dragging the tag.

No, but for whatever it is worth, you can move each individually in one view and then Clipboard Copy/Paste all of them together between Views so you don't have to repeat the gymnastics.

Yes.

- temporary change the view scale to 1:1 and detail level to coarse

- tag beams without leader

- change the view scale back to original

Wouldn't it be easier to TAG ALL and then SELECT ALL and use the NUDGE keys?  Dunno.  I hadn't heard of that approach you suggested before.  Interesting workaround.

Are your beams always the same orientation?

@barthbradley  - I use to TAG ALL, SELECT ALL and then use the NUDGE keys. In this case, I have near 200 beams per plan: half of them are rotated 90 deg and I have almost 15 different beam types (wide and depth). This makes this approach almost impossible and repetitive.

I tried @ToanDN approach, but it does not work that well.

Why is it possible to place the tags at the center of the walls but it does not work for the beams family?

Thanks for your response,

1. Does that trick work with concrete beams as well?
2. How do you record your screencast? Any app or software?

I swear I followed your steps and it did not work (LOL)

I have a suggestion, but the way you are marking and removing and replacing solution credits with ones that, by your own admission, do "not work that well", isn't "working" for me. I'm out of here. Have fun with @ToanDN.

You might want to look at Dynamo then.  Try Dynamobim.org
