Automatically change length

Hi,

I try to get revit to automatically make my wall measurements in the "Danish standard" dimension.

I just can not get revit to automatically use the value the dimension has. The "Mål" parameter on my image I would like to have becomes automatic but "Length" or "Total Length" is not a valid parameter.
Can anyone help me? I would like my measuring lines to be automatically divided per 60 mm

Why are they global parameters?

That's because it's the only place I've found where it 'almost' succeeds. Is there another place where my problematic can be solved? The road to it is less important, it is the goal that means something 😁

What are those global parameters supposed to control? You are going to place a wall, dimension it then associate the dimension with a global parameter in order to shorten it few mm?

I want to assign the dimension of the wall the formula that is either called "= round (Total length / 60) x 60 - 10". Everything except to get revit to use the value of the dimension "total length" I have solved with global parameters. if there is another solution where i can fix it automatically it's okay.

Do you want to report how many of (Pillemal, Hulmal, and Stenmal) in a wall in a schedule?  If so, add those as Calculated value parameters in the schedule and use Length for your Mal parameter.  If you want to actually split the wall to modules then using curtain walls with a basic wall type as panels is a possibility.

Live conversion of units from metric or imperial to mal is not possible (ie: to place or resize a wall length automatically from 5000mm to 4970mm or 4980mm is not possible ). It will always need a bridging step to achieve that...

  1. Either what you have already done (resize walls using Dims associated to global parameters)
  2. Or model using metric and annotate with a custom Line based detail component that has a label which does the conversion (HOWEVER, the wall would not be shortened, it would still be 5000mm but the dim label will show 4980 or 4990mm)

The Question is ...Are all your walls 5000mm prior to conversion?
