Automatic colors change/ halftone for dimensions measuring existing to existing

I know there are workarounds using graphic overrides. It would be nice if there was an option to have a filter that allows to override the color of the dimensions depending if it is measuring something existing to existing, new to existing, or new to new. I believe that this would aid people in  reading the plans. While I seen people only dimension what is new I believe that everything should be dimensioned for the purpose of pricing a project.

That sounds more confusing.  That might even necessitate a Key to help the reader.  Maybe I don't understand you correctly. You want dimensions to display differently if they are pulled from elements born in different Phase of Construction?
