Hi All, Recently, I have installed the Autodesk Revit 2017 on my computer (windows 7 64 bits). But when I tried to open the program, there is a screenshot which states that “Autodesk Revit has stopped working”. Kindly advise the solution. Thanks in advance.

Hello @Anonymous

Sorry about the issues you are having.

You might want to take a look at this post and see if that helps you too.

Let me know if it works.

You are going to have to make sure prerequisites are not causing issues. If you do not have IT installing and are not familiar with some of these settings this can seem daunting. However, usually a reinstall will fix many of the issues.

Make sure your graphics driver is the latest. Check your setup.ini file to make sure the C++ and .NET are not conflicting with what is already on your machine. Usually the log file [you can access this by typing %temp%] in your search box will tell you what the issue is. I hope this helps, just take the issues one at a time and you should come to a resolution fairly quickly.

Since it's a Windows error (not a Revit error message) I strongly recommend checking Windows event logs under computer. Just right click on Computer icon and chose Manage option. On the window select event records and take a look at both windows and software. There will be many records. So find yours by date and time. That record would give you a better idea about the issue.

If you recently updated your windows, there may be a conflict on installed updates. If you haven't updated check for updates.

Also take a look at autodesk support pages for any possible hotfixes or updates.

And a few more details about your system. Is Revit 2017 an update, installed on a previous version? Microsoft runtime packages are installed properly, .net packages are installed properly?

Also try cleaning your registry with a proper software as well.

Please also let us know about the news.
