AutoCAD to Revit via Third Party Service Provider

We use AutoCAD to design and engineer furniture which we manufacture for university buildings.  Architectural firms like to place our furniture in their designs.  Since they use BIM, they need revits of our furniture items to place in their building layouts and render as complete rooms for their client presentations.  What is the simplest way for us to get a revit from an AutoCAD drawing?  Is there limited software for this?  Is there a third-party provider of this service?  We have limited staff, and we need to stay focused on furniture designing and engineering.

How about focusing on giving the client what they need? Doesn't that have any priority?

You might even find that making the families in Revit is actually really good for what you do. Whatever you decide to do, please do not just import your stuff into Revit. It needs to be native Revit elements. If you don't do this, you will be providing a bunch of unnecessary garbage to your clients.

Our purpose is exactly to give the client what they need. We need our engineering department to stay focused on product engineering; therefore, we are looking for a third party to take our .dwg output and get them into a revit format easily usable by architectural designers.

Sorry, as this is a Revit user help forum, I thought you were looking for a third party "program" to do it for you. Your search may prove more fruitful on a job forum/board, a local AutoDesk provider, local user group, or through a recruiter. Be forewarned that by using a third party you will have less control of the quality of the families. Getting someone in house to help train people to use Revit might be beneficial.

So is it simple 2D drawings?  Those are simple to create in Revit.  Can't render them of course, as they are 2D.

You don't need any additional software aside from Revit. You just need someone to run Revit. Furniture should be really easy. It could be a part timer or a consultant. You might even be able to utilize an architectural student in an internship type of position.

If they are already doing 3D, it shouldn't be much of a stretch but yeah, my mind wasn't quite at that level of detail when I said it should be easy.
