Associate nested family parameter in host family.

Hi,

I feel like this might be a pretty dumb question haha so apologies. But I have this set of families we purchased and I wanted to make some modifications.

When I attempted to basically bring the leaf height shared parameter into the host family, instead of the usual grey box to associate, its always a checkbox so I cant seem to associate it?

I did try a formula but it didnt work as the only thing I could think of was making the same shared parameter equal the other.

First image is the host family with the  nested family being the cubicle door and walls. Second Image showing you what parameter I am trying to bring into the host from the nested. In this case it is the leaf height.

Here is a pic of the hose family and the parametres.

When I load it back into the host family, there is no grey box I can use associate parametres. Is this because they are all using shared parameters? If thats the case how do I bring the leaf height into this host?

Thanks

Use instance parameters in the nested family.

Thanks for the reply.

So there is no way to use the existing shared parametres? Do you also know why i have check boxes instead of the grey buttons that are usually there to associate parameters?

Thanks again

I meant you need to change the parameters in the nested family from type to instance in order to be able to associate them with parameters in the main family.
