Assigning two zones to one space

Hi!

Is there a way, in which I could assign two zones to one space?

What I'm trying to do is, keep the entire area as one zone and then subdividing each space to separate zones.

Is that even possible?

Zones within Spaces? Don't you mean Spaces within Zones?

No, what I mean is the entire building area is to be specified as one zone.

And then some rooms are to be clubbed into anther zone.

So, I need one space to have two zones. Which I believe is not possible. But,  I thought of asking it here - you never know there might be a way out suggested by someone.

What is the purpose of the entire building zone then?  Why can't you Gross Building Area instead?

I assume you mean HVAC zones? 

typically one creates a space that matches a (architectural) room, or is part of a room. The space can be smart and contain electrical (lighting power etc.) information, HVAC information etc. 

So if you have one room, you can have multiple spaces. And then you can assign each space to a different zone. But I don't see the use, since how would HVAC equipment meet a setpoint if another thermostat also controls the same space? I don't think one space can be assigned to 2 zones. A zone is typically defined and served by one HVAC unit (i.e. one VAV terminal etc.).

Maybe tell us what it really is you want and why you think you want multiple zones for one space?

I actually have this same question.  My reasoning is to avoid drawing an annotated region when the spaces are already created.  I have a building with 46 zones including below ceiling in the corridors.  Above ceiling in the corridors would act as a completely tight return plenum space.  I want a zone plan that shows all 46 zones (including the below ceiling zones in the corridors) and a separate zone plan that shows the above ceiling return plenum.  Is this possible?

This is a very old topic, but still relevant.

I can get only one Name...
