area computation setting display on plotted sheet

I need to know what the area computation setting was when a sheet with an area schedule is plotted.  Was it set to "at wall finish" or "at wall center"?  Is there a way to display the area computation setting in a schedule or on a plotted sheet with the area schedule?

When you create an Area Plan (Gross or Rentable), you cannot schedule or display the Area Boundary Lines.  However, you can schedule the Area Type as a column in your schedule.  A Rentable Area object has an Area Type of Building Common Area whereas a Gross Area object has an Area Type of Gross Building Area.  You can either leave these descriptions as is or change their naming to better indicate an area object as Rentable or Gross.  See image.

In the Area Type Column, there are only a few choices given for changing the description of the Area.  These are hard-coated into the Revit Software.  You will need to create either a Shared Parameter or a Project Parameter that is looking at the Area object in order to create additional Area Types.

Thank you for the responses, I didn't explain my need well enough.  I should have stated "Room schedule with area parameter" rather than area schedule.  If someone flips the switch between how room areas are calculated, the schedules can change without any indication that the area computations are now different than what is expected.  On large projects, this could mean a screw up worth millions.

I fully agree--making changes to the Area Calculation settings can go unnoticed and have very bad repercussions.

If the Project is using Worksets, there is a Workset under Project Standards for Area and Volume Calculations.

You could "lock down" this Workset with a Revit User name.

Not "fool-proof", as someone could change their User name and then get permissions for the Workset and change the Room Area Calculation setting.

But--it at least creates a way to try to control it.

These global settings should be discussed with the entire team at project kickoff and strictly monitored and enforced by the BIM Mgr or Team Revit leader.
