Applying view settings to an existing template

Hello,

Is it possible to apply current view settings to an existing template. I know I can create just a new one, but if it's possible to apply the settings to an existing one that will save time and will apply the settings automatically to the views already have that template. Thank you all.

The template consists of your view settings... If you want to add to it, just temporarily apply your template, set to none, adjust ,create new template from view and apply that... Or adjust the template itself, don't think it's possible to override a view template with current settings actually but that might be a good suggestion tbh.

You can open a temp project... P1

  1. In main project create a view template from current view and call it whatever
  2. Transfer the above view template  from your main project to project P1
  3. In project P1 … Rename it to the view template you want to update in your project
  4. Transfer back to your main project and overwrite (updates all views)

You can also create a new template with the settings you want, delete the existing template and Revit will give the prompt to choose a new template for all the affected views, then you can choose the new template and rename it if you want.
