ANNOTATION SETTINGS

Hello,

I am having a issue which I have been trying to solve, its not so much an issue but an anomaly which maybe just a REVIT glitch but if it is solvable it would be nice.

I have no issues changing and using the project unit settings changing from Metric to Imperial. However when I am working in Imperial I like to use decimal inches 1.5" v. 1½". The issue you can see in the screen shot below is that the text properties do not want to use decimal inches, I can only get these ridiculous factions. This is seems to be an issue whether it is a metric or imperial template started project.

I have also noticed this in some families where some properties show in fractional and others show in decimal inches when units are set to decimal.

Am I missing something or is this a weird glitch in REVIT.

Thanks in Advance.

Your Project Units are set to Decimal Inches under "Common" Discipline?

What unit do you set as? If you choose Feet & Fractional inches, it will default length to fraction. All your parameters will default to feet & fractional inches. As well the precision will display in your parameters. If you see value as decimal inches in schedule or tag, this means there is a custom field added so it display different unit.

yes, I have the settings on Decimal Inches, with 3 decimal places. Most items will incorpoarte the setting change, however it seems that not all setting inherit this change. This issue is also present in Dimension settings as wellScreenshot3.jpg

Interesting. I see what you are talking about. Never noticed this before.  Since the Fonts used in Revit are Microsoft True Type fonts, I'm wondering if this is controlled through the OS.

More fun...open a Metric Template and Text Properties are in millimeters. Change Project Units to Decimal Inches and the Text Properties are Fractional Inches, not Decimal Inches.

AARGH!

Qual unidade você quer definir? Se você escolher Pés e polegadas fracionais, o comprimento padrão será fração. Todos os seus parâmetros serão padronizados em pés e polegadas fracionárias.

as noted above, I want Decimal Inches, but not all properties inherit this setting change and instead stay as fractional.
