Angled Wall Joins in Plan with two different wall types

I'm having an issue getting the wall join behaviour i want. 

I have 

1. Angled walls in plan

2. Two different wall thicknesses (one has an additional internal lining zone) 

3.  Two slightly different angles of the wall from the Grid Line

 

I want the mitre join to be in line with Grid Line as indicated below. so i don't get that funny kink in the wall on top side of the concrete party wall. Walls.JPG

 

Can't find a way to achieve this.... 

 

The detail drawings will show the correct configuration, but i'd prefer it was correct on all our GA plans and 1:50s etc as well.

thanks, but I don't see how that can solve my issue. the hierarchy  of layers is set correctly in my walls and both share the same structure. 

worth noting as well the concrete party wall on the grid line is in the linked structural model and I can't join to it.

So, you are saying that they join/miter perfectly at 90 degrees?

elsewhere I have two walls of the same thickness coming together, and the join is in the location I want:-

as soon as I have to make one wall a different type (thicker) the mitre join moves around to 'clean' up the wall join. 

however this is not what I want as I don't want that kink in the upper room. 

I want to override the join so it joins like such (in blue)

as I said, I can't join to the concrete wall as it's in a linked model. 

is this possible (and quick, I have dozens of these) ?

I'm not following you, but you've mentioned the Linked Wall twice, as if having it available would provide a solution.  If this is so, why don't you Copy the Linked Wall to the Parent Project via Copy/Monitor on the Collaborate Tab?

I think you are presuming that a miter between objects of different thickness' will have a line that approximates a bisecting line (eg. 81+82=163°).

The math for the miter of a 90° interior angle is quite straightforward (angle = Arctan (width1/width2) and Arctan(width2/width1)) but for your case it is a bit more complicated. Someone here did the math: Angle Distribution For Non-90º Miters

So, while your intention is to show the two interior surfaces to join behind the concrete wall, the technically correct position of Revit's miter will be outside the concrete.

One way to rectify the graphic representation in your general arrangement drawings would be to split the thicker wall to into two walls, the outer part being close to the thickness of the bottom wall and the interior finish being a the second part of the upper wall.

 

Remember to attach the two parts of the upper walls to each other so that window and door families will cut both.

seems copy monitor of the wall is the simplest option

The default mitter join is something like this

 a custom mitter join is something like this

 the green line is the mitter location.

The way to achieve this is to disable wall joins, extend both and create a wall void component with model in place and cut both walls where you want.

 

For my point of view the correct join in this situation would be a butt join like this
