This is the first time modeling a project in depth in Revit (2016). In addition to modeling the building for sheet take-offs, I'm also trying to do a basic analysis of my main structural system.
I thought that the analytical model wasn't showing up at all when I clicked "View Analytical Model" on the view control bar, but I just realized that it's just really hard to see underneath the architectural elements. Is there any way to make the analytical model the only thing visible? I have seen tutorials and parts of the help that show "Analytical Model" as a seperate 3D view. How do I do that?
Image of what model looks like with "View Analytical Model" enabled.
Thanks.

If you start with the default structural template, a 3D analytical view is automatically created which shows you only the analytical model. If you did not, you can go to your 3D view, right click it in the Project Browser and choose duplicate view. Rename the duplicate view as 3D Analytical View. Open this view and then type in VV or VG to open the Visibility Graphics Dialog Box. In the Model Categories Tab, make sure "Show model categories in this view" is NOT checked. Then go the Analytical Model Categories Tab and make sure "Show analytical model categories in this view" IS checked as well as any checkmarks within each categorie of objects you want to see in this view. Click Apply and OK.

I have a similar problem, but in Revit 2017. When I open a Structural Template, there isn't an analytical model created automatically. How can I change this to make Revit include a 3d Analytical model automatically, when I open a Structural Template?
