Your client has requested that you show Alternate Units in your Revit project. So how can this be done for the Levels in your Elevation views, Section views etc.? With a little Family Editing is what's up! Here we go….
- In the Project Browser, navigate to Families > Annotation Symbols > Level Head being used in the project. Right Click and select Edit.
- In the Level Head – Circle.rfa family (for example), Copy the Elevation parameter and place it below the original to create an additional instance of the Elevation parameter.
- With this instance still selected, click Edit Label.
- In the Edit Label dialog, select the Elevation Parameter, which then allows you to select the Format option at the bottom.
- In the Format dialog which pops up, deselect the “Use project settings” check box. This will allow you to then modify the Units in the drop down and select Metric, or whatever units you wish to show Alternatively.
- Click OK twice to get back to the family then Load into Project / Load into Project and Close.
- Back in the project, make sure in the Type properties of the Level you are using, that the correct Level family you just modified is being referenced.
- Navigate to the Elevation and Voila!
