Hello all,
Is the central file workset worksharing direction the best way to go? Or is linking each discipline to the Arch. model, being the master, the way to go?
I have searched this site & others for answers, which I have, but I thought I would ask my questions to my certain problem.....
Since the office is changing over to REVIT, what is the best way to go? I've been working on the Arch. model custom template for over several months, but the last two weeks been trying out the mep's as a linked file, but trying to "do it all" in one model is not working - if we go to the central file format.
Here is the problem I'm having....
I have created a HVAC duct layout using the Mechanical template oofb, and linked the architectural model to it - which worked as expected. Now I am trying to do mep's in the architectural model, I can't make it work - I'm having problems let's say. The office wants to do all arch., structural, mep models in one CENTRAL file, maybe.
The problems....
1) I have loaded all fittings for a round duct system - I still get an error message that no fittings are loaded
2) if I run a duct out into space and draw another one perpendicular to it, no fitting error.
3) I tried doing this using a generic arch. template ootb, but the ductwork didn't have fitting, duct were not colored, etc.
There are many more, but I thought I would start with those, but here is this error message.
"The routing solution failed because there is no default fitting type specified or the fitting cannot be found in the project. Ensure the fitting is loaded in the project and try again."
Now, I tried doing a simple duct layout in the default project template file ootb, same thing...
I know that there is a systems template ootb, which I seen on a traing video, should that have been the basis for the arch. template that we are creating for our master project template?
I have all the visb. graphics setting checked so I can make sure everything will show - even made sure that nothing was hidden. Also, verified the view range.
Suggestions and or direction on what to do would be great....
Thanks in advance....
