aligning with detach

The align tool is my friend. I would like it to be a better friend. When moving walls using the align tool (ei:aliging walls to grids) I can't detach the wall. The result is that walls above and below the wall that is being modified also move.  I instead have to use the move tool. Is there a way around this?

That is expected behavior.

Detach the wall(s) first, then use Align.

There is no "Align and Detach" option like there is with the Move command.

Walls are sometimes too smart for their own good.  If it can't be done with Move + Disjoin alone then you can Move + Disjoin, then Align.

Huh? Revit doesn't throw a warning? Something like this?

that's a massive pain, unfortunate for such a key function.
