Aligning views in Revit

Revit seems not to have that many options when it comes to organizing views on a sheet.

I usually use the grid to align my views.

This is tedious.

Is there a better practice?

thanks! That's one solution, though why revit would not allow simple snapping of views to the sheet grid is beyond me.

(Am I wrong there, pls tell me I'm wrong and you can snap to the **** grid.)

Actually, I just tried this, added some reference planes, and I get not snapping even though all possible snaps are turned on.

Doesn't seem to work.

Hi @jfjacques

Guide grids help arrange views so that they appear in the same location from sheet to sheet.

*Easily Align Views on Sheets with this Revit Macro and some tips from Revit kid.

*I have provided a link to an application or add-in that MIGHT provide the extra functionality for which you are looking. Please note, however, this is not an Autodesk product or endorsement. Draw a horizontal or vertical reference plane in view then you can snap the endpoint of the reference plane to any linework on sheet when you move the view.  Angled reference planes do not work.

Solution to problem is this..

1. On Sheet use " Guide Grid " Name it ex " Grid A1 "

2. When you drag a View Ex Plan, on the sheet, use normal Grids and then you

can use the intersection of Grids to Snap to Guide Grids of Sheet...

Guide grid on sheet.. View dragged on sheetGuide grid on sheet.. View dragged on sheetUse Intersection of Grid to move and place on intersection of Guide GridUse Intersection of Grid to move and place on intersection of Guide Gridfinal snap and move .final snap and move .
