Adding Materials to Imported Mass

Is there a way to add materials to imported masses? I imported a .sat file from Rhino and wish to add a solid/opaque material texture to it. As of now it shows only translucent blue. I've added a material parameter in "Edit Family" and assigned a material but nothing changed. Simply trying to do it for rendering. Thanks!

Depends a little bit how the model is made. But in general it should be possible to assign an object style material to the right layer

The imported model was made using Rhino and Grasshopper. It was a solid
surface in rhino. I created a new family and imported the CAD file into the
family. In Hidden Line view the object is solid but any others its
translucent blue. How do you assign object styles? I made a material
parameter and added one but it didnt help. I thought about making it all a
"roof" with roof-by-face but its a gridshell roof structure and it has
hundreds of faces, individually turning them all into roofs and changing
the material just seems impractical. Whats a sure-fire easy way to do it?

You can reach the object styles inside the family editor by going to "View", "Visibility/Graphics" At the bottom of the window that opens you will see a button with "Object Styles". In the new window that opens you will have to go to the tab "Imported Categories" (because the sat file is an imp[orted file).

See also the screenshot of my previous post.

If you would need more assisitance it woul be advised to post your sat file so we can have a look
