I am new to Revit, and I have some questions. What is the best way to add a rock skirt to the outside of a house? When I try to use the split face option I get an error message that says "The closed loop used to split the face must lie completely within the face and cannot intersect or overlap any of the face's edges. To split a face at its border, use an open loop that ends on the boundary of the face." Is there a better way, or am I possibly just not using this tool correctly? Thanks!!!

Your split face boundary should be continuous and enclosed by itself or by the wall boundary lines.
Depends on the design of your skirt, there are are tool such as Wall Sweeps (only vertical or horizontal), Split region in the wall type, or in place model sweeps.
