Add a base sweep

What is the difference between adding a sweep in a wall profile and from the Wall:Sweep command?  If I have a profile of a base in my file, why doesn't it show up in the Wall: Sweep command?  I know it can be added to the wall profile.

The difference is:

Adding to Wall Type properties "embeds" the Profile into the wall, and it will be "permanently" located in the wall assembly.

Adding a Sweep manually allow you to place it and drag the ends manually.

To create a Sweep and manually place it:

Make sure the Profile Family is loaded into your Project--look in Project Browser, under Families>Profiles.

Then use Architecture Tab> Wall> Wall: Sweep

Under Type select Duplicate, give your sweep a name, then under Properties>Profiles, select your Profile from the drop-down list.

Then place cursor along edge of wall and hit enter. the sweep will attach itself to the wall. Youc an then drag the ends of the sweep manually.
