Absolute Elevation different than Project Base Point, Survey Point

I created a template from a past project, and today started a new project.  I set the Survey Point based on a CAD linked survey, at 712.0' elevation.  I set Project Base Point to 714.3', which will correspond to first floor finish elevation.

When I create a new toposurface for the property, and enter 0'-0" Absolute Elevation (the only option) for the first property corner, it yields a point located at 604.0'.  I assume this is a vestige of the past project from which the template was created.

I can't seem to change it.  I've tried clipping/unclipping survey point, Moving the Base Point to the internal origin (which puts it at 604.0', directly below where I have it now).  

On the grand scale of Revit woes, I admit this is not terrible.  I can do some math to set my topo perimeter points (actual value relative to survey point + 108.0' = correctly placed point), my internal topo points can be placed relative to survey point (not an option for the initial topo perimeter points), and my Project Base Point will take care of my levels.  

But I'd still like to know how to reset Absolute Elevation to 0, so I won't have to do this every time.  Suggestions?

Hi,

Take a section or elevation where you can see the Project base point.

Unclip the Project base point (red line thru paperclip) now rightclick it and press "move to startup location".

Does it move? then the base point was moved to another location independent from the Surveypoint

Suvey point (unclipped) set values to 0,0,0. and Project point (clipped) also to 0,0,0

Now the all origins are aligned (this should be the setting for a template)

Now the correct position can be set

Move the Project Base Point

(FYI clarification:  Project Base Point doesn't have a clip/unclip option in my 2020.2 install, but it didn't matter.  These instructions worked)

For the template set the Survey point and Project point to clipped state and maybe also pin it.

That's correct see the link, from R2020.2 things changed:

"Note: The project base point clip has been removed in Revit 2020.2. To move a clipped Project Base Point, click Manage Position Relocate Project."

FWIW: Absolute Toposurface Point elevation is relative to the Internal Origin of the Project -- not PBP or SP.

It is an insanely poor setting option they created.

I'm not understanding the screenshot, but the Toposurface's internal boundary points have no value outside of Edit Mode.  If you want that point to be located at or near that red dot, then close out of edit mode and move the Toposurface up.   Keep in mind that Spot Elevations, Contour Labels and whatnot are relative to the Anno's "Elevation Base".  They are not relative to the Toposurface.

"Move to Startup Location" doesn't show when I right or left click on the clipped or unclipped survey point sooooooo....how do I move the internal origin so my topo will reference the survey point correctly. Revit 2021
