Able to place rooms but not areas

In a floor plan, I was able to create a room boundary automatically.

But in the area plan, when I try to create area, it says Room not enclosed.

Not sure whats going on

You need to draw Area Separation Lines first.

No it doesn't.

Because Rooms and Areas are completely different categories, so are their boundaries.  If they were the same then what would be the point of having Rooms and Areas at all? 

You, however, can generate Area Separation lines quickly by picking walls.  But you still have to do it.

What is the goal of you creating Areas?  Maybe you can get away with just using Rooms and Room Color Schemes.
