3D view error

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi

I have a very unusual error. I upgraded to Revit 2018 and when I start drawing a stair this happens in my 3D view. (photo)

After I finish the editing mode nothing is visible longer in my 3D view. It's empty.

Does anybody else has the same error and maybe has a solution?

Thank you so much.

I'll bet it's your Graphic's Card. Check its status in Option under Graphics tab. Might need to be updated. You might also try unchecking "Use Hardware Acceleration".

Download the newest drivers.

Deinstall the old and reinstall the new drivers.

This link is about the same problem:

Hi again.

Thank you so much. I uninstalled it, restart, installed it again and restart again. I opened Revit to see if it was fixed the issue and it is still there. Now it appears when I change between windowses in Revit, from 3D to floor plan for example. It disappeared after a short second, I am just afraid that it might be something more serious with the graphics card.

Could be something worse indeed.

Try this:

Are you sure there is no second display adaptor in your PC?

I took a screenshot of the options for the graphics card.

I also checked about the start-up and it was disabled for the igfxext file.

The situation is that its a Lenovo ThinkPad and it is still under guarantee and I would like to know if ifs something I should address and get a new graphics card and change it. When I run a Leveno Solution test 2 weeks ago it had an error on the hard drive so I have to change that soon, but I do not see how and if there is a connection between the display issue and the hard drive.

If your hard drive is givong errors than it is possible it is becoming corrupt.

If you hard drive is getting corrupt (bad clusters) your files will be corrupt as well.

Your programs wil corrupt too.

Check your HD for bad clusters.

And take backups before it is too late!

It is not possible to change the graphics card because it is built in in the processor.

Thank you so much. I just hope that is the hard drive and not something else.

What HD (brand) is built in your Lenovo.

There is a good "SMART" test programm but I think it is from Western Digital.

I will search it.

Right click on "start".

Click on "computer management"

Click on "disk management"

Right click on the HD you want to test.

Properties

The Tools tab

And then error checking

Hit "check".

But you should do it when you have some time because this can take a while !
