2019 new features

One more year and it's very disappointing. Those new features should be named patches or service pack for 2018 ..... When are we going to see something significant? having tabs is good but come on....it takes one year to have tabs?....why not a very good improvement in stairs and railings? .....see your competition (Archicad 21)  at this rate Revit is going to match it in stairs and railings in about 5 years.

If Autodesk wants to justify subscription fees they have to do a lot more than wasting everybody's time...Please, Mr.Dictator(Autodesk) could you really work hard for once for your thousands of clients that pay every month /years a lot of money to you to get something back.?

You make think more than twice if I should keep using your products.

@chrisplyler, yes completely agree!!! It's the obvious solution and how a company like Autodesk doesn't bring in bigger teams to improve the speed of development I have never understood. Especially in this technologically advanced time. But then, have we ever known Autodesk to be any different?? I haven't. Plus I have had this discussion a million times, just exchange "Revit" for "AutoCAD". It's an endless loop discussion. These days I try and be part of the solution, than complain about it.

I was more interested in the original OP saying 2019 features weren't good enough. I am intrigued to know what would have been more satisfying to see for the 2019 release?

Again, is this really an AutoDesk issue or is it really a people/societal one?

There are always going to be people who complain about anything and everything. They are never satisfied and are resistant to change. They love to complain and make themselves look smarter than the other guy. Even if they can't find flaws, they complain about a lack(?) of new features. They often can't back-up their complaints either and, when they face opposition, often resort to bringing up more complaints that are totally unrelated or they go on the defensive. More often than not, their complaints go unsubstantiated.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

@RobDraw

It's both an Autodesk issue AND a user/people issue.

I absolutely love Revit. But I still feel the pang of truth when somebody complains about some little feature or improvement that seems like we should have had eight years ago.

Unless you can tell me that you've NEVER felt it (which would also be unsubstantiated by the way) then it's a bit on the hypocritical side to suggest that anyone who has is a nit-picky whiner.

I have both and have been using AutoCAd for over 30 years, Revit for 10 and the later is much better!

I have issues with Revit on a daily basis but I don't use these forums as a place to complain about them and I certainly don't complain about a lack of new features and/or as they are continually coming out.

I generally don't complain about I do when they broke something was working fine:

- Sun path removed from Conceptual mass family environment since R2017

- Can't create divided surfaces on imported SAT since R2017

I doubt those are from any wishlist.

Meanwhile, can someone has 2019 confirm if the above still the cases?  Thanks!

Let me ask this: why don't you have larger teams on your projects?  It will get more work done, yes?  And the answer will be exactly the same as it is for Autodesk: it will require spending more than the budget allows.  Just like your boss, they can't spend what they don't have.

That's one of the downsides of being in a technical forum: lots of people from the pointy technology end of the stick, not a whole lot from the management end.
