2019: cannot print multi-page pdf using Acrobat

Using Revit 2019 and Adobe Acrobat DC on Windows 10, I cannot print multiple sheets to a single pdf file.  When I press OK, Acrobat's progress dialog pops up like normal and shows a few progress bars.  Then it stops, does nothing more, never finishes, never creates a file.  Neither Revit nor Acrobat is frozen and I can close the dialog and move on.

I can print individual sheets to separate files just fine.  Also, Acrobat works fine with AutoCAD and Inventor.  What is the trick to make it work with Revit?

This worked and was the simplest for my client to do.

Thanks for the quick responses from everyone.

I've been dealing with this issue for about 3 years with several work-arounds - I can't believe this worked on first try. My no-fail solution has been to change the settings to send the prints to the documents folder without prompting for file name or asking to replace file. Then I re-check all the printer options and set up a couple times. It's just a pain to have to move the files after - but when on a tight schedule ANYTHING is worth trying.

Thanks for the tip!

Hey Chris,

Another Revit workaround to print multiple sheets:  CTRL+P, hit Preview with Current window selected, do the preview, hit Print, once back at the print dialog window, check Selected views/sheets and also check/re-check Combine multiple selected views/sheets into a single filechoose file name and directory, and hit OK

This workaround contributed by a fellow Revit user somewhere amidst this forum I believe. I have had 100% success rate.

Cheers,

Rob

This is extremely frustrating, especially when you have a deadline and you can't create a PDF. And it is impossible to pinpoint the reason Revit is not creating PDF. Every work-around proposed would work once or twice and it reverts to the same. Sometimes, I spend hours re-starting the software, and even rebooting my desktop before it finally works.

Last night, i spent 4 hours trying to create PDF to send to Air graphics, I went back home at 8pm, can't log the hours because my Principal is complaining about the project being over budget, and this happens every time I need to print to PDF.

This is absurd, I've worked at several firms, same issue. I think production people need to start formally informing their Principals, and log the hours spent troubleshooting Revit as overhead hours. Because once the people managing the subscriptions start to complain, Auto-desk will start addressing the issue.

This is absurd,

Agree that wasting valuable time with PDF's over the last 3 ( T H R E E ) years amounts to quite a few dollars and ridiculous frustration. How about Autodesk quits messing with superfluous menu redesign until print issues are resolved? Ahh.. too elementary and not good for their bottom line, I tru$t.

Finally, a solution. Nothing like tricking a $10k single seat software program I was tricked into buying only to be forced to upgrade to subscription into batch printing... But anyways, thanks for the solution.

I can't believe this actually worked. Strange workaround, but thanks for finding it.
