2017 - Walls visible in view but sometimes disappear

We are experiencing an issue where new construction is visible, even delectable, in a view but will then visually disappear.

Existing model's phases are mapped to match the new model.  The new construction is typically visible but will just disappear.

This happens in both plan and 3d view and affects all components of the new phase.

Isn't a hardware problem? Maybe your video board it's overloaded. I saw it happens in computers with low capability or hardware problems. Try to see the minimum video requirements.

Graphic's card meets the minimum (https://www.nvidia.com/content/PDF/data-sheet/DS_NV_Quadro_K4000_OCT13_NV_US_LR.pdf), as well as the CPU and RAM.

My computer, when compared to the rest, is typically one of the fastest so that shouldn't be the issue.

Thanks for the reply though

Hi @Anonymous,

This issue should be resolved: are you updated to the latest service pack for 2017? Here is a workaround in the meantime if it keeps happening.

Thanks for the reply. We've installed the latest service pack as of Monday as well as updated the GPU driver. The issue still occurs and it occurs I views with a standard crop region. This problem has also occurred in 3D.

Hi there, I've sent you an email directly, if you could send us the model for testing that would be great, thank you!

We sent the model and journal entries but it seems like you didn't get them.  Around that same time the problem stopped occurring (which is why I didn't fuss with uploading to your box site).  I thought this had to do with turning the hardware acceleration off for a day and then turning it back on.  This helped for the whole week... but then on Friday the problem popped up again.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear the issue has resurfaced. I will go ahead and create a new case for you to upload the model and we can troubleshoot from there. Keep an eye out for an email from us!

Thanks

Hello,

Has there been a resolution to this?  I have 3 users on a project team who are repeatedly running into this problem in 3D views.

I have yet to receive the model from the OP for testing on our end. In the meantime, can you tell me what build number you have for Revit 2017? Can you attach a journal file here from when the incident happens?

Thanks!

I'm still looking into it on our end. Thanks for sending the journal file. It looks like your Revit is up to date and this issue was resolved, therefore I'm going to see if there was a regression if it's showing up again.

Thanks, is it possible that this bug has been fixed in the 2017.1 update?

I didn't see it listed on the official features for improvements but I would recommend updating and seeing if the issue persists.

The OP was able to resolve this issue by updating the graphics card driver, you might want to try that.

Updating the graphics card driver has not resolved the issue.

Hello,

We've been experiencing an issue with 2017 Revit. We upgraded our project model from 2016 to 2017 (all walls are visible in the 2016 model). After doing so noticed some walls in our project are not visible (windows are visible) on the floor plans but the same walls are visible on the Reflected Ceiling Plan as well as the 3D View but not visible in plan views. Also, the same wall type is visible, on the other side of the building, on the same floor plan. I've check Hidden Elements, filters, Visual Graphics, graphics card, service package, etc. I can't for the life of me figure this out. Could someone from support help?

This person describes what I was experiencing in my previous posts.  My project also upgraded from 2016 to 2017.

I still cant figure out why the walls disappeared and the I tried selecting them in the 3D View and then going to the floor plan and seeing if moving it would somehow cause it to appear again. Nothing. So I copied the walls from the other side of my project and those show up. No clue why the other ones disappeared. Unless AUTODESK SUPPORT can figure out and reply to this to help the user figure out their bugs. That was the solution I came up with.

Cut and paste in place. Make a backup first.
