Viewport Labels - Placement in 2016 bug

Hi Jeremy, I have created a routine to tightly crop items (Curtain Walls) in plan and elevation. I then dimension (and tag) these items outside of the crop box.

When placing these views on sheets in 2017 and 2018 the Viewport Labels appear in a reasonable location, i.e., clear of the bottom edge dimension. In 2016 however the Viewport Label is created over the top of the dimension requiring the Viewport label to be moved. It would appear that the label is placed purely on the Crop and not the area that includes annotation items.

Any chance of raising this as an issue with the development team and getting it rectified?

I have attached a sample file showing the issue.

Dear Andreas,

Thank you for your report and sample file.

> Any chance of raising this as an issue with the development team...?

Yes, sure, no problem.

> ... and getting it rectified?

Realistically, I would guess no, to tell the truth.

I can raise the issue for you, but I think it will be pretty hard to convince the product managers to invest the effort to fix something just for you two releases back... three, in fact, as far as the development people are concerned.

Your best chance will be to raise a wish list item for the fix in the Revit Idea Station and get a hundred votes for it... can you do that?  🙂

Best regards,

Jeremy
