.txt file is not open correctly in excel file

Hello,

I have exported family types to the .txt file.(which comes by default) from my family.

but there are unnecessary parameters in the text file so i want to delete it.

so i import the .txt file into excel.

while importing I select

delimited>next, comma>next,finish.

but the columns are not coming per the parameters/types.

they are spread in the excel file.

Can anyone has idea what is the problem or is there any other method to solve this?

please answer it asap.

thanks

It's hard to understand what exactly you are trying to extract from the families, can you show us an example excel file and what you expected?

Ultimately I would probably suggest not using txt files and using those to parse since they can be problematic sometimes. Rather I would suggest  using another form of data storage for parsing such as xml or json (I personally use Newtonsoft's JSON library since it is fast and very easy to work with for parsing information.)

Dear Friend,

I suggest that you could filter parameters in Revit first , then export to .txt.
