Turn on/off visibility for elements in linked models

Anonymous

To turn on/off visibility for elements in linked models I now have to:

- Shortcut 'vv'
- Go to 'Revit Links'
- select linked file
- by host view
- select custom
- go to Model Categories
- select <custom> from dropdown

I can't find any quicker way.
Does this mean I can't make en add-in for it either?

Hi,

Yes that will be correct, currently the API does not provide a way to Hide the elements in the Linked file based on the explanation that Revitalizer provided in the link you provided.

Revitalizer explanation:

"elements of the linked file are not listed the UI selection since the top level element is still the relating RevitLinkInstance.
There is no relating ElementId you could use with View.Hide method.

So no way to solve your problem."

If you want to find out a way through the Revit UI to do it faster I will recommend to raise the question in the dedicated Product Use forum.

Cheers,
