Thermal Mass - REVIT

Hi everyone

I´m writing a thesis about BIM and I´m using REVIT.

I´m exploring the REVIT functions although i can´t understand how REVIT finds de thermal mass of a wall.

So my question what is the formula used by REVIT to calculate thermal mass?

Thank you all

Hi Luis,

Most likely you will not recieve an answer on this Forum.

Revit API forum is for API (Application Programming Interface) questions.

I did a quick Search and I found a couple of links that might give you some idea, Sorry I'm not very familiar with the Thermal Mass topic.

http://sustainabilityworkshop.autodesk.com/buildings/thermal-mass

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/learn-explore/caas/beta/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/20...

Hope they Help. Also you could try posting your question on some of the other forums.

For non-API questions, please choose other forums that is more appropriate. For example,

Thank you for your answer

the links you gave me dont mention the formula used by REVIT

I thought that the formula was:

Thermal Mass of a layer= Thickness*specif heat*density

altough the values dont match

thank you anyway
