Setting Origin points in Revit using a CAD topography file

Hello everyone,
I have a question about setting up my project base points :
For a start, I acquired coordinated from dwg topography file. My survey point stands now at (0,0,0) but my base point is quite far from the survey one (thousands of kilometers away, which can't be very good right ? just wondering).
My dwg files and Revit files align perfectly when I link them using shared coordinated. But I have an issue linking IFC files, as they use Revit origin point to align (if I'm not mistaken).
My question is the following :
Should I swap the coordinates of the survey point and the base point ? leaving the base point at its initial position (0,0,0) same as the origin point thus aligning my linked IFC files, and my dwgs and revit files using origin to origin linking?
Does the distance between my survey point and base point affect my model ?
Thank you in advance,
