Selection Box to get 3D element

Hello.

I need to get a 3D representation of an element. I know you can do it "manually" by creating the 3d view an adjusting the coordinates and the orientation.

My question is if there is any way to create such a view with the Selection Box functionality (PostableCommand?) and if that's the case, how should I go about it.
