Hello,
For our company I'm trying to create a ribbon tab with the most used commands, for the users that don't like keyboard shortcuts.
First I've tried to "Copy" revit built in commands with the AdWindows.dll, but that hasn't given a satisfying result.
Now I'm thinking of re creating the most used command by using the Application.PostCommand(). This is working quite good.
But on the Ribbon we would like to have Icons instead of Text buttons.
Does anybody know how or where to get/find the build in Revit Icons/Pictorgrams?
I would find it very usefull!
Greetz Maarten
Dear Maarten,
Sounds like a good idea to me.
And it has been done in the past:

Apparently, you can free download and use a "free icon extraction program which searched and found them easily enough."
I don't know which DLLs to look in, though.
Please do let us know when you have found out.
Thank you!
Cheers,
Jeremy
This looks powerful and easy:
Which dll should be used to extract icons?

It looks like @FAIR59 worked it out:

You can quickly check to see what icons are in a dll by:
Right-click on a desktop shortcut > Properties > Change Icon > Browse to a file.
Hi, know this post is old. If someone is still looking for it, I believe the icons are found at UIFrameworkRes.dll
Hello edrick,
Thanks for the anwser,
I don't actually need it anymore but thanks for sharing your knowledge!

Has there been a change in newer versions of Revit? I'm unable to find the ribbon tool icons in any of the locations listed. Does anyone know where to access these files?
