Revit release availability

I am coming across an issue when working with several projects in Revit.  Often projects can last for several years, however, Autodesk only allow a person to have 4 releases available at one time.  Therefore it becomes impossible to work on a project that is more than 4 years old.  It is not sensible in Revit to upgrade projects to a newer release as Revit can lose information, as codes are different.  So why would Autodesk not allow a subscriber to have more than 4 versions at a time, when this causes such a problem?  We are unable to use Revit 2020 or 2021, as we still have live projects in 2016.

Sorry to hear about your conundrum. I was not aware of this restriction. However, I am not in a position to say, anyway.

Please note that this discussion forum is dedicated to programming Revit using the Revit API.

Therefore, you cannot expect an answer to a question such as yours relating to licensing, installation, product usage or end user support issues here.

You should try one of the non-API Revit product support discussion forums instead for that:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-api-forum/this-forum-is-for-revit-api-programming-questions-not...

The people there are much better equipped to answer your question than us programming nerds.

I hope this clarifies.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Best regards,

Jeremy
