Revit MEP System Browser focus blocks "Add-Ins" and "Analyze" tabs

Hi,

we are preparing application than can be started with MEP system selected. When we select system in System Browser - we can't start our addin, because all custom buttons on "Analyze" tab and whole "Add-Ins" tab are grayed out. They became enabled after we go back on View with focus.
Anyone knows how to handle this?

Dear Tomasz,

From your description, it sounds as if this is intentional behaviour on the side of Revit.

Therefore, for a quick resolution, I would suggest that you consider some alternative way to launch you add-in.

Why do you want to launch it in this particular context, when (apparently) Revit is unwilling to run an external command?

In general, it is pretty hard to fight the Revit system... much easier and more efficient to go with the flow instead of struggling against it.

I hope this helps.

Best regards,

Jeremy

Hi Jeremy,

One of our user stories is to run our addin with MEP system selected, and selecting system on system browser is quite convenient way to do that. It's confusing that addins are then disabled, but we will have to live with that.

Thanks,

Dear Tomasz,

Sorry, yes, that appears to be the case.

Thank you for your understanding.

Good luck!

Cheers,

Jeremy
