Revit Macros keep showing a red dot as needing to be rebuilt

My Revit macros keep showing a red dot as needing to be rebuilt even though they have been built successfully.
Same happens if I share these to another designer, once copied into place on their machine one or both sometime get the red dot and become unusable.

Any idea why the macros would unexpectedly change ?

are you sure you are getting a successful build?  Are you using VS code and Revit 2025? Or 2026?

VS Code builds the solution or file in the current directory, and not necessarily the file you are looking at when you edit a macro.

I had originally written this in Revit 2022 under the old sharpdevelop app, now I've migrated it to Revit 2025 with VS Code.
It builds successfully under VS code and runs fine for a while then randomly shows up with the red dot.

I'm looking at rewriting it in visual Studio 2022, but am curious as to why the red dot issue is occurring
